Job Description

What We’re Looking For: 

A Barista at Great White is a wizard at preparing coffee and non-alcoholic drinks while providing a memorable experience for all guests. You must have the ability to provide excellent customer service, professional behavior, and positive energy to create a fun environment that encourages guests to come back for more. To succeed as a barista, you have an engaging personality and are efficient, observant, and are deeply knowledgeable about coffee, with the ability to work well under pressure. 

What you’ll do:

You are responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages, greeting guests, creating relationships with repeat guests, learning their drink preferences, running food, and handling the coffee and beverage opening and closing procedures. In addition, you collaborate with managers to complete pre and post-shift duties and are a supportive team member to all staff.

Recommended Experience:

• 1+ years of experience working as a Barista 
• You can produce latte art 
• You bring energy, rigor, and curiosity to the role and use skills in multitasking, problem-solving, and a high degree of organization.
• You have experience in working in demanding and fast-paced environments
• You can deliver coffee and other beverages quickly and efficiently while maintaining consistency. 
• You have a SafeServe certificate. 
• You are a team player that is flexible and reliable with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• You have experience in Toast, Resy, 7Shifts, or other hospitality-driven technologies.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certifications: Must possess a valid California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire.

• Compliance: Must complete California-mandated Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (provided by the company).

• Skillset: Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

• Stationary Standing: Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of a shift (up to 8 hours).

• Manual Dexterity: Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

• Movement: Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach overhead to access supplies.

• Sensory: The employee is frequently required to taste and smell coffee and milk products to ensure quality control and freshness.

• Lifting: Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds (milk crates/ice buckets) and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
