Horse Farm Manager (6365)

A farm property for retired horses in Southeastern Wisconsin is seeking to hire a Horse Farm Manager to oversee operations and the care of a herd of up to 22 horses. This professional will replace the farm manager who is retiring after many years. This is a full-time, year round, live-on position. Generally a Monday through Friday schedule.

Qualifications:
Must be a skilled rider who is knowledgeable in equine health practices and be able to identity when a veterinarian is needed to provide specialized care to the horses.Primary responsibilities will include keeping records on all of the horses, maintaining inventories of supplies, hands-on upkeep of horse stalls, care of pastures, and upkeep of farm equipment. Additional administrative and management responsibilities will be needed as well as supervising, directing, and overseeing farm staff.

Benefits:
Compensation up to $65,000 to $75,000 offered, depending on experience, with a benefits package. Live-on-property accommodations offered: either a three-bedroom house or a spacious studio loft apartment available on the property with paid utilities (pets welcome on the farm!). Flexible start date available.
