Job Description

The Grounds Crew Member plays a vital role in supporting the mission of Facilities Services at the University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) by helping maintain a safe, functional, and visually appealing campus environment. This position performs a wide range of landscaping, groundskeeping, and general maintenance tasks including the care of ornamental plants, lawn and landscape maintenance, hardscape upkeep, and snow and ice removal. Working under the direction of the Grounds Lead, the MSW 3 Grounds Crew member contributes to campus beautification, operational readiness, and safety, while also assisting with event support, equipment maintenance, and training of temporary staff. Through these efforts, the position supports the Facilities Services Department's commitment to providing a well-maintained campus that enhances the experience of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Success comes from working collaboratively with the Facilities Services team, remaining adaptable to changing weather and operational needs, and maintaining a proactive approach to campus safety, beautification, and service to the University of Alaska Southeast community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

An unrestricted Alaska driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAS campus in Juneau. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and  full employee benefits package .
