Job Description

Mechanical Engineer - Machine Design

Responsible for designing, modifying, and supporting custom machinery used in a manufacturing environment. This role owns mechanical projects from concept through installation and works hands-on with equipment, testing, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Design and modify machinery, tooling, and mechanical systems

Develop solutions to product and process issues

Lead mechanical projects through design, build, test, and install phases

Support fabrication, assembly, and commissioning activities

Perform and support FAT and SAT testing

Conduct data collection and root cause analysis

Work hands-on with fixtures, jigs, and mechanical modifications

Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering teams

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

5+ years of machine design experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong tolerance-based mechanical design experience

Experience with automation equipment and PLC-controlled systems

Proficient with SolidWorks and/or Autodesk (2D & 3D)

High-volume manufacturing experience

Ability to travel as needed
