Full Time Private Household Chef - Scottsdale, AZ - Travel Required

This is a role for a chef who doesn't need to hide behind complexity.

A private family is looking for a chef in the spirit of Yotam Ottolenghi: ingredient-led, intuitive, and deeply respectful of simplicity. The focus here is clean, vibrant, nourishing food - made daily, with consistency and care.

If you are a chef who understands how to build a meal around a perfectly roasted vegetable, a pot of grains, a bright dressing, and a beautifully sourced piece of fish or meat - this will feel like home.

There is no chaos, no showmanship, no ego. Just a well-run household, a calm kitchen, and the expectation that food will be thoughtful, seasonal, and quietly exceptional.

What You'll Do

You'll cook daily meals that are simple but never boring - primarily lunch and dinner, with breakfast as needed. The kitchen should always feel "alive": stocked with prepared components that make eating well feel effortless.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, seasonal meals with a health-forward approach
• Build and maintain a refrigerator of ready-to-eat elements (grains, vegetables, proteins, dressings)
• Source exceptional ingredients from farmers' markets and trusted purveyors
• Occasionally deliver meals to a nearby office
• Cook for small, informal gatherings and dinners
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly at all times
• Assist with occasional errands and support the household as needed
• Work in sync with a small, professional household team

Qualifications

• Experienced in private homes or similar environments
• Deeply knowledgeable about sourcing and seasonality
• Focused on clean, balanced cooking without trends or excess
• Organized, self-sufficient, and consistent
• Discreet and comfortable in a private household setting
• Flexible and open to travel between residences
• Easy to work with, communicative, and grounded

Schedule & Compensation

• $150,000–$175,000 annually, depending on experience
• 5-day workweek (M–F or T–Sat)
• Occasional weekends and travel
