Overview

The Purchasing Agent processes all daily requests for materials and services locations to include purchase expedite of repair or coordination of transfers from other locations.

Responsibilities

• Generates purchase orders and maintains updates in the AMCS (Aircraft Maintenance Computer System) System and updates orders in Accounting System as required.
• Ensures all associated documentation is complete and within policy and procedure. Proactively monitors all contractual and supplier obligations as well as ensuring all audit requirements are maintained.
• Provides direction to suppliers to ensure all packaging and shipping conditions are met for specific inventory requirements. Resolves any invoice or receiving discrepancies as required.
• Maintains awareness of various industry economic trends to identify explore and develop prime and alternate sources for products and services. Ensures the supplier selection process provides optimum quality at the most cost effective price.
• Administers and oversees the warranty recovery process for all applicable parts and/or services.
• Arbitrates any denied warranty to ensure that the maximum value and recovery is received on a timely basis.
• Maintains awareness of applicable airworthiness or maintenance events to capture applicable warranty opportunities. Ensures all warranty goals and audit requirements are met.
• Monitors and tracks all purchase/warranty orders to ensure deliveries or awards are made according to established schedules.
• Develops and maintains data reflecting suppliers performance producing performance reports as directed.
• Monitors all aspects of the supply chain including overall cycle time to ensure parts are available when and where they are needed.
• May require the monitoring of inventory levels to ensure part availability balancing required service levels to the companys financial cost. Requirement may include generating requisitions for purchase or initiating the movement of existing inventory to support demand.
• Ensures all assigned goals are met within established guidelines and timeframe.
• Assists in providing on the job training for other department associates.
• Assists in providing project development and tracking through project completion of associated materials.
• Assists in the identification of cost savings measures including PMA candidates bulk purchase potential and inventory balancing.
• Performs additional duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or two years of professional business experience for each year of required college.
• Supply Chain Management/Procurement Contract or Warranty background a plus but not required.
• Must possess and demonstrate sufficient understanding of systems and processes and complete training as required.
• Must possess and demonstrate above average oral and written communication skills.
• Must possess and be able to demonstrate intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Must have valid drivers license.
• Four-year college degree or equivalent business experience.
• Must be able to work extra hours when necessary.
• Travel may be necessary.
